3 Inch Minus

This material is made up of big rocks approximately 3” in diameter. We use this to stabilize a base for a full excavation, or when installing a driveway, depending on how far down we have to dig. If we are installing a completely new base, 3 inch minus is the first material used to ensure that your asphalt is supported.

5/8 Crushed Limestone

This material is used for every base we install. It ensures that we have a solid base that will not move before paving. A proper base is the key to having a driveway that will last a long time.

HL3A Driveway Mix

This is a great asphalt mix for residential driveways because it provides a long life with a very smooth finish. It consists of more sand than aggregate (stone), and is popular for all length of driveways in both the city and countryside. It’s a very durable asphalt that lasts many years.
HL3A Driveway Mix is not recommended for commercial use, as abuse from heavy vehicles will quickly reduce its life expectancy. If you plan on having motor homes, heavy trailers, or large trucks on your driveway, it’s recommended to use a more commercial asphalt mix for a longer lifespan without impressions or cracking.

HL3 Asphalt Mix

This mix of asphalt is great for driveways and parking lots of all sizes! We recommended it if you plan to use your driveway for commercial use (parking heavy equipment, heavy trailers, motor homes etc). This mix of asphalt is more durable and stable than HL3A driveway mix. It consists of larger aggregate (stone), which makes it much stronger. With this mix of asphalt you will not notice impressions or cracking from heavy vehicles or objects using the asphalt. Because there is still a sand mixture mixed into the asphalt, the finish will still be smooth and look great. The larger aggregate is mostly vibratory rolled below the surface of the asphalt, but some remains at the top layer.

HL8 Asphalt Mix

This mix of asphalt is used for a base. It is popular for roads and sometimes commercial parking lots and driveways, depending on the situation. It has more asphalt concrete (A/C) mixed in, which makes it a lot stickier. It also has a lot less sand mixture and larger aggregate (stone). Once HL8 asphalt mix is paved, another top coat of asphalt is paved over top (commonly commercial HL3). This asphalt base layer is only needed if you are parking exceptionally heavy vehicles/equipment on the asphalt for prolonged periods of time, or when there is daily heavy truck traffic on the asphalt.
